The AMITA Health Heart & Vascular Institute is a recognized regional referral center for advanced imaging for HF diagnosis and assessment of causal factors. Newly diagnosed patients can then be immediately triaged to specialists at the AMITA Health Heart & Vascular Institute for appropriate medical treatment or interventions to address underlying conditions, such as coronary artery disease and valvular disease.
The AMITA Health Heart Function Program offers leading-edge VAD implant technology and expertise. Whether used as a bridge-to-transplant or as destination therapy, VADs can dramatically improve patient survival rate during the first year, as well as overall quality of life after recovery. Should a heart transplant be necessary, the AMITA Health Heart & Vascular Institute maintains close relationships with organ transplant centers throughout Illinois.
AMITA Health Heart Function Program supports individuals who can benefit from focused monitoring of their condition to manage symptoms and prevent hospital readmission.
The Heart Function Program is set up to supplement, not replace a physician visit. The clinic RN will work directly with the referring physicians to ensure continuity of care and timely follow up communication regarding patient progress.
